Meet the team

Monet has a passion for birth work and reframing birth. She has been doing doula work for approximately three years and has served many families from her own to others. After completing her training with DONA she notice the increase in recognition of mistreatment of mothers. Black women are 3-4 x's more likely to die during childbirth than their white counterparts. Monet hopes to decrease this statistic, although she knows she cannot do it alone. Having a support team that wants to see through a successful birth and "fourth trimester" is her goal as your doula.

Monice has been a mother to 2 children and has experienced multiple ways of infant feeding. She understands the importance of postpartum nutrition and how to aid in proper latching. She is DONA trained in delivering postpartum care and understands that doulas are for dads too. Due to the black mortality rate statistics, she hopes to use her experience to help fathers who have lost their spouses in childbirth. The transition from adulthood to fatherhood without a spouse can take its toll on many. Having a postpartum doula to aid in support is always an additional help to guide those who need it most.
